IISSAC Swim

It has been a great year for the BIS Dragon Swim Team. The team tried their best during the IISSAC competition at BIAS, and showed great performance and effort across the board.

Swimmers from all age groups earned individual and team relay medals. For individual races, the boys team earned a combined 8 gold, 6 silver, and 5 bronze medals; the girls earned 2 gold, 6 silver, and 8 bronze medals. In the relays, the girls won 2 gold and 1 bronze, and the boys won 3 silver and 1 bronze. Congratulations to all of our swimmers!

Many students also raced their Personal Best last weekend, showing growth and determination. Thank you to all of our swimmers for your hard work and effort, and thank you to the school community for your support. We are proud to be Dragons!

IISSAC Basketball

Over the 3-5 March weekend, the BIS Boys and Girls traveled to Salatiga for the IISSAC Basketball tournament.  The tournament was the first that IISSAC has sponsored since before the pandemic in 2019.  Both teams played with a great deal of enthusiasm, effort, and heart. Although neither team came away with a placing trophy, they represented BIS fantastically and exhibited what it means to compete as a Dragon!
Football Games

Our Dragons took on our local rivals in the first competitive football games in over two years. The excitement was incredible as many of the BIS students, teachers, and parents made their way to the away venue. Our girls won their match 3-1. Unfortunately, the boy's team was defeated 6-2. We look forward to home matches coming to the BIS campus coming soon in preparation for the IISSAC tournament.

Basketball

In preparation for the upcoming IISSAC tournament, both the girl's and boys' basketball teams have been practicing very hard.  In addition, they have had intrasquad games as well as competed against other local teams.

The Middle School boy's team participated in a tournament against 16 other teams. Our boys represented the school well finishing in 4th place. This was an exceptional showing considering basketball was not a sport they could play over the past few years due to the pandemic.

The school and the community wish to congratulate both the girl's and boy's teams for their effort and we wish them huge success in the upcoming IISSAC tournament.

IISSAC Tournament

On 28 - 29 October, the BIS boys and girls football/soccer teams participated in the long-awaited and much-anticipated IISSAC tournament in Malang; the first since the pandemic.

Both teams played representing the school with a great amount of pride. The results were that the girl's team finished in third place while the boys finished sixth.

Most importantly, the BIS players exhibited a great amount of sportsmanship throughout the tournament making us all proud to be Dragon!
