IB Primary Years Programme - Early Childhood (PYP)
Play is the work of childhood.
-Jean Piaget
At BIS, we understand how curious, resourceful, and creative our youngest students can be. Our Early Childhood programme lays a foundation that is essential for future learning and success. We foster a natural love of learning through hands-on experiences, purposefully-designed learning spaces, and engaging explorations of the world around us. We nurture relationships between peers and teachers, and we use play as an avenue for meaningful, holistic learning. Our BIS Early Childhood programme is interactive, individualized, and above all – a whole lot of fun!
BIS offers the IB Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) in Early Childhood for our 3 – 6 year olds. Students learn a variety of subject areas in a way that naturally supports skill development in the early years. English and Mathematics are explored daily, and connected to Science and Social Studies through real-life problems. Relationship building and self-expression are essential skills for our Early Childhood students, and are supported by teachers with experience and training in early childhood development.
During the regular school day, students also participate in Indonesian Language and Culture, Physical Education, Visual Arts, Swimming, and Library classes to broaden their understanding of the world.
We also offer an optional Extension Programme for our younger learners who are developmentally ready for a longer school day. The Extension Programme includes a variety of extra activities such as swimming, gardening, arts and crafts. Please contact the Admissions Office for more details...
