The BIS Board of Directors is a group of dedicated BIS parents who have made the decision to serve the school and its community.  The Board is comprised of seven members who serve for three years.  As per Board policy, there can only be two members serving simultaneously that represent the same nationality.  To join the Board, potential members must submit a letter of application; the voting takes place during the Foundation Meeting that takes place during the second semester.

Board Update May 2026

Dear BIS Dragons,

It’s a quiet week on campus this week, isn’t it? Secondary students are gone for Outreach, while G12s are in the midst of their DP exams. Primary students, thank you for holding down the fort and filling our grounds with so much energy and enthusiasm. I am sure you all don’t mind having the campus to yourselves!

A couple of weekends ago, I got to watch one of my children compete at the IISSAC swim competition. When you think about it, swimmers practice year-round, several times a week, for maybe a handful of races that last up to only a couple of minutes. It is a lot of input for what seemingly is very little output, which may or may not result in receiving a medal. Our swim team did incredibly well, so kudos to our Dragons. Deeper than wearing a circular piece of metal around your neck, what I see is young people learning to be disciplined, work hard with little reward, be self-motivated, and develop grit while also learning to be a supportive teammate. These are important skills not just for swimming, but for success in life. Congrats, Dragons, for a swim season well done!

Finally, as we round out the school year, here are a few things that the Board is working on:

  • Foundation Meeting on 19 May, at which we will report the latest from a governance and operations perspective on BIS
  • Deciding on summer campus redevelopment projects to address the community’s needs, as well as bringing a fresh vibe for the new school year
  • Policy updates and changes for the board, school finances, and more
  • Head of School evaluation - meeting with Ms. Marci to review the academic year with an eye towards the next

Thank you, BIS Dragons Community, for your continued support of the school.
