The BIS Board of Directors is a group of dedicated BIS parents who have made the decision to serve the school and its community.  The Board is comprised of seven members who serve for three years.  As per Board policy, there can only be two members serving simultaneously that represent the same nationality.  To join the Board, potential members must submit a letter of application; the voting takes place during the Foundation Meeting that takes place during the second semester.

At the end of the 2023 - 2024 academic year, the Board of Directors will be searching for a new volunteer to serve the school community.  If this role is of interest to you, please reach out to our Board Chair at: roger.lam@bisedu.or.id.

Board Update April 2024

Dear BIS Dragons Community,

I hope that you enjoyed a wonderful Idul Fitri break. I know that for a large part of our community, it is a deeply meaningful time with family and friends. Welcome back to all. It’s hard to believe that we only have about 7 weeks of school left now, isn’t it?

Here’s a quick update on what the Board has been working on over the last month:

  • Development of budget, plans, and permitting processes for the new building are well underway. Soon we will be opening bids to contractors and selecting a project manager. We hope that in early 2025, the new labs and classrooms will be ready for us to move in!
  • Our enrollment is back up to pre-pandemic levels! While costs continue to rise and the Board must carefully manage the school’s finances, this is a huge victory for our community.
  • The Campus Redevelopment Committee is looking at other minor improvement projects for the summer of 2024.
  • The Marketing and Business Development Committees both continue to work hard at getting our name out there and increasing our visibility in the community.

Lastly, I’d like to wish our badminton, swim, and cross country teams good luck this weekend and next, as they
travel for their respective competitions. GO DRAGONS!

Warm Regards,
Roger Lam
