School Board
The BIS Board of Directors is a group of dedicated BIS parents who have made the decision to serve the school and its community. The Board is comprised of seven members who serve for three years. As per Board policy, there can only be two members serving simultaneously that represent the same nationality. To join the Board, potential members must submit a letter of application; the voting takes place during the Foundation Meeting that takes place during the second semester.
At the end of the 2023 - 2024 academic year, the Board of Directors will be searching for a new volunteer to serve the school community. If this role is of interest to you, please reach out to our Board Chair at: roger.lam@bisedu.or.id.
Dear BIS Dragons,
Welcome back! I hope that everyone was able to enjoy a fun and restful mid-semester break. I know that October is a busy month for our school community, so taking some time off was much appreciated, I’m sure. Here are some quick updates from the Board this month:
- Reviewed last year’s IBDP results, presented by Ms. Kari Brown. We continue to score above world average, which is a huge accomplishment as a non-selective school.
- Updated our fundraising goals, which are beginning to gain traction.
- Began discussing the 2025-2026 budget. Details to be shared at the next Foundation Meeting.
- Next week, Ms. Marci and I will attend the EARCOS Leadership Conference, where we will be presented with the latest trends, information, best practices, etc for international school settings. As the representative of the Board, I will attend various workshops that will ultimately help the Board in understanding our role in governance, finance, marketing, and more. I look forward to applying this training and strengthening our community.
Lastly, I’d like to wish our IISSAC Football teams the best of luck next week as they participate in this annual tournament.
Go Dragons!
