The BIS Board of Directors is a group of dedicated BIS parents who have made the decision to serve the school and its community.  The Board is comprised of seven members who serve for three years.  As per Board policy, there can only be two members serving simultaneously that represent the same nationality.  To join the Board, potential members must submit a letter of application; the voting takes place during the Foundation Meeting that takes place during the second semester.

Board Update October 2026

Dear BIS Dragons Community,

This week I had the opportunity to accompany our middle school students to the MYP Team Building Day. Of course, it’s a fun-filled day outside the walls of the campus, spent in nature, and very active. More importantly, it’s also a day of working through new challenges, overcoming fear, learning about communication, and having a shared experience with one another. By the end of the day, I saw groups of students working together to finish tasks, encouraging one another to get through physically challenging obstacles, and even having to work through conflict.

As a parent, I got the unique opportunity to see how our Mission, Vision, and Values affect our learning. I can totally see how these Guiding Statements shape how curriculum and experiences like yesterday’s Team Building Day are formed. One of the things we regularly do as a community is re-engage with our MVV and ask ourselves if anything needs to be changed. Do these statements still reflect who we are as a community? Do we want to reword anything so as to sharpen our focus? Are we still holding true to what this school really is about?

Lastly, I’d like to acknowledge our teachers, staff, and administrators for the ways in which they create this type of learning environment for our young BIS Dragons.
