The BIS Board of Directors is a group of dedicated BIS parents who have made the decision to serve the school and its community.  The Board is comprised of seven members who serve for three years.  As per Board policy, there can only be two members serving simultaneously that represent the same nationality.  To join the Board, potential members must submit a letter of application; the voting takes place during the Foundation Meeting that takes place during the second semester.

At the end of the 2023 - 2024 academic year, the Board of Directors will be searching for a new volunteer to serve the school community.  If this role is of interest to you, please reach out to our Board Chair at: roger.lam@bisedu.or.id.

Board Update August 2024
Dear BIS Dragons Community,
 
Welcome back! If you are new to BIS, I hope that BIS is a place that is starting to feel like home for you. As I stepped onto campus for the first time last week, I could feel the anticipation and excitement of the new year in the atmosphere. It’s going to be a wonderful school year!
 
Last weekend, the Head of School and Board met for our annual retreat. What goes on at these annual retreats? These are just some of the many topics discussed:
  • School and facilities updates
  • Board training and development
  • School and Head of School annual goals
  • Financial review
  • Strategic plan review
  • Looking ahead towards the future
I would say that BIS is in a “building” year. Of course, we have the new science building construction underway. Besides that, we are building leadership structures and systems to ensure a better future for BIS. We are glad to begin the year with a dedicated, full-time Secondary Principal and a newly created position in the Activities and Athletics Director. Student success will always be our top priority, guided by our Mission, Vision, and Values.
 
Lastly, I want to commend our Dragon Parents to get involved this year in a new way. Whether joining the Board, helping with FoBIS, or attending school events, parent support is absolutely vital to our school’s success. Please don’t hesitate to contact Ms. Marci or me for ways you can get involved.
